We are happy to announce Surfside Wellness Centre will re-open on
June 15th, 2020.

While we are excited to welcome all our members back, we will be enforcing new cautionary measures to help to ensure the safety of our employees and members alike.

We ask that you prepare for your return by reading the new protocols.

Please note that these are guidelines and are subject to change.

Below is an overview of the protocols. 

Club Protocols

1. Club Access

To comply with social distancing requirements, club access will be limited to a maximum of 25 persons per time period.

Please visit https://www.picktime.com/surfside to schedule your time slot at the club.

Members may schedule a maximum of one (1) visit per day for a maximum period of one (1) hour per visit.

2. Facility Entry

All patrons will be subject to temperature checks before gaining entry to the facility.

All patrons will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire before gaining entry to the facility.
Members are not mandated to wear masks during the workout sessions however they accept that there is an increased risk of contracting the virus if they don’t.
The facility will enable touchless entry (no touching doors).
All patrons will be required to apply hand sanitizer upon entering the facility.
All members will be encouraged to bring designated gym shoes and put them on upon arrival.

3. Club Reception

The Club will enable touchless check-in for members.
The Club will enable touchless payments.
Towel service will be suspended. Please bring your own large towel. Towels will be rented at a cost of $10. No towel, no workout.
The reception area floor will be clearly marked to ensure patrons adhere to social distancing requirements.

4. Fitness Services

Equipment

All equipment will be distanced accordingly.
The gym floor will be clearly marked to ensure patrons adhere to social distancing requirements.

Group Exercise

Members may participate in group exercises classes as follows:

  1. Physical distanced classes at the club
  1. Classes on the online group exercise platform
  1. Physical distanced classes and classes on the online group exercise platform.
  1. In-house on demand classes; members may use their booking time at the club to complete an online class at their convenience, in the main studio.

Our team will project the class on a large screen for the member. This option may be used for any class and is especially great for equipment-based classes such as spin.

 

Personal Training

Members may participate in personal training sessions as follows:

  1. The personal trainers will conduct personal training sessions in the studio spaces at the club.
  • There will be a maximum of two personal trainers and their clients allocated to each studio space.
  1. Outdoor personal training sessions
  2. Online personal training sessions

5. Cleaning & Sanitation

Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the facility (reception, change room, gym floor, studio rooms, and offices) Disinfectant wet wipes stations will be located throughout the gym floor. Members will be required to use disinfectant wipes on the equipment before and after each use. Members will be required to place a towel on the equipment before each use. The club will employ a full-time industrial cleaning company. The club will be cleaned at the end of each business day.

6. Facility Environment

Social spaces in the facility will remain closed.

The water cooler will not be accessible. Please bring your own water or you may purchase water at the service desk.

7. Hours of Operation

  • Monday 6am-10pm
  • Tuesday 5am-10pm
  • Wednesday 5am-10pm
  • Thursday 5am-10pm
  • Friday 5am-10pm
  • Saturday: 6am-6pm
  • Sunday: 8am-1pm

8. Staffing

The club will schedule staggered shifts to comply with social distancing requirements.

 

All staff will be subject to temperature checks before gaining entry to the facility.

 

All staff will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire before gaining entry to the facility.

 

All staff will be required to wear masks and gloves.

All staff will be required to wash their hands and apply hand sanitizer frequently. 

All staff will be required to change their clothes every 4 hours and their masks every 2 hours.

All staff will be required to keep daily logs to facilitate contact tracing.

9. MEMBERSHIP

Terms

Club Membership: This membership was available when our facility was open and operating regularly. Members visited the club, attended classes, and/or used the exercise equipment for their exercise sessions.

Online Membership: Due to the COVID-19 measures enacted by the government, our facility was closed effective March 23, 2020. During this closure, online Surfside membership was introduced. The online platform allows members to access group exercise classes live or on-demand at their convenience.

Club Members

All club memberships will be reactivated effective June 15, 2020 and billing will resume accordingly.

All club members will receive access to the club and online group exercise platform.

Online Members

Online members without club membership may activate a club membership by contacting [email protected]

The club memberships of online members with existing club memberships (that were suspended effective March 23, 2020) will be reactivated on June 15, 2020. No action is required.

10. Membership Suspension

Membership Suspension

Members who wish to extend their membership suspension may do so by contacting [email protected] by June 19 , 2020 and using the subject : Continue Membership Suspension. Please state your full name when drafting the email.

At this time, this option will be available for up to 3 months. Still, this may be amended accordingly as we receive new information related to covid-19.

Membership dues will not be processed while the membership is suspended.
